Deserted Places

An ode to corners of the park, dusty bookshops, secret spots, and to the parts of ourselves yet to be revealed.

Daybreaks. The sun no where to be seen. Soft earth beneath my shoes beckons me to know. Within the morning lies the inescapable truth and then- your face flashes in my mind. Only, I’m awake now. I stretch my chin to the sky as if to ask for reprieve or forgiveness. Only, secretly I long for neither. Beneath the earth is water, is it not? I dreamt of your deep sea.

Or is it fire? Warm waters streaming from my eyes. Only you could tell me.

Only you could see.
